"The song of a white swan can symbolize a peaceful death. Teresa did not struggle during her last days. For our family, the two white swans in flight represent our Aunt Ruthie guiding her sister, Teresa, to heaven."
Teresa A. Reeves
Born: September 10, 1927
Died: March 3, 2018
Teresa (Terry) Reeves was born in New York City to John and Ruth Fusi and lived in the Big Apple until just after WWII ended. When she was 16, she met a handsome young sailor named Thomas Reeves, who was stationed in New York during the war. Terry married her navy man on July 6, 1946, and moved to Tom’s home state of California shortly after.
Tom and Terry settled in Lakewood, CA, where they became members of St. Pancratius Catholic Church, and raised six children. Terry was known as a wonderful cook and hosted many family dinners throughout the years, but her true passion was baking delicious pies and decorating cakes. Her cake decorating skills were so good that she made wedding cakes for her two oldest children.
Sadly, Thomas I. Reeves passed away in 1981 and Teresa remained a widow for the remainder of her life. After losing her husband, Terry attended Long Beach City College and became active in several senior travel clubs.
Teresa Reeves is survived by her six children, Thomas J. Reeves, Viviann (Kevin) Tauer, Barry Reeves, Annette (James) Gregson, Jeffrey Reeves, and Gregory Reeves. She also leaves behind her beloved nephew, Robert Whitehead, as well as 11 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Terry was the last surviving sibling of the Fusi family, but has joyfully joined her loving sister, Ruth Whitehead, as well as her parents, in heaven. She will now be with the love of her life, Thomas I. Reeves, for all eternity.
