Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, 87
Robert Ralph Jordan, son of Americo and Rose Giordano (Jordan), originally of Newark NJ, passed away peacefully on Thursday February 23, 2023, at 1:11pm in Huntington Beach California at the age of 87. Robert is survived by his Wife of 67 years, Agnes Skerko Jordan; his four children, Robert A. Jordan of Maryland, Alexander S. Jordan of New Jersey, Anastasia J. Kovary of California, Susan Osman of New Jersey; and his ten Grandchildren and four Great-Grandchildren. Robert was predeceased by his brother Ames Giordano, and sisters Dolores D’Amato and Theresa Perna.
Born in Newark, NJ in 1936, Robert attended and played football at Barringer High School and graduated from Upsala College in East Orange. Upon graduation, Robert embarked on a 38 year-long career in the mortgage banking industry. He owned his own mortgage company; County Mortgage Co., Inc. Robert held the honor of being a President of the New Jersey Mortgage Bankers Association. He helped to educate and counsel many individuals who are still in the industry today.
When not working, Robert’s passion was his grandchildren. There was never a game, recital, or event that Robert was not in attendance. Family was his everything.
Robert moved to California in 2018 after living in Roseland NJ for much of his adult life. In his later years he enjoyed going for walks and enjoying the blue skies, warm desert days, and snow-capped mountains of California.
Robert will be remembered by Family and friends as a great Husband, Father, grandfather and friend. He would drop everything to help someone in need. He lived his life to help his family and his country as a proud American his entire life, but mostly, he lived his life for his beautiful wife, Agnes.
Funeral Services will be conducted by Heritage-Dilday Memorial Services in Huntington Beach, CA.
The Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, March 3rd, at 12:30pm at Saints Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church in Huntington Beach, with Interment to follow at Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery in Huntington Beach. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to your local chapter of Catholic Charities.
