Obituary for Mary C. Fenech

Our beloved mother, Mary Fenech (Noriega) entered into God’s Kingdom on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at age 85.

Mary was born to Rebecca Guzman Carrasco and Elautario Carrasco on June 7, 1936 in Carlsbad, New Mexico.  They lived on a farm growing vegetables and taking care of goats and chickens.  After high school, Mary worked at the Carlsbad Caverns where she met the love of her life, Encarnacion “Chon” Noriega.

Mary and Chon married in 1956 and had three children, Edward “Eddie”, Sharon “Shari”, and Veronica “Ronnie”.  Mary was a loyal servant to God, first and foremost.  She loved sharing the love and warmth of our savior, Jesus Christ, with her family and friends. 

In 1962, Mary and Chon moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico until 1969 when they moved to Costa Mesa, Huntington Beach, and then Tustin, California. Mary was an Executive Manager for a Major Food Chain for over 40 years.  Mary enjoyed sewing, cooking and working around her home and caring for her beautiful garden.

Mary now joins her love, Chon, mother and father, sisters: Lucianna Sauceda, Soccoro Subia, and, brothers: Manuel, Cruz, and Concepcion in heaven.

Mary is survived by many loving family members, including her immediate family; Eddie Noriega and Mary Mackin of Huntington Beach, Sharon Noriega and Dean Zitko of Huntington Beach, Veronica and William Sharp of New Braunfels, Texas; three grandchildren, Dana of Houston, Texas, Carmen of Ventura, CA, and Cheyne and Kristina Sharp of Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, and one great grandchild, Layla Rose Sharp and Mary’s sister Sabina Clayton of North Carolina.

Now that Mary has passed into the arms of our Lord, we should remind ourselves that while this is the end of Mary’s physical life on Earth with us, it’s the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey for her and she will live on in our hearts.
