Lupe Leggett was born in Los Angeles, California on December 30, 1935 her parents were Raymond and Felicitas Segoviano. She was the eldest of three children. Lupe attended Montebello High School where she graduated in 1954.
Lupe studied Business at East Los Angeles Junior College. During and following her time in college she worked at Abbott Laboratories as an Office Administrator. In 1970 Lupe became a Teacher’s Aide for the El Rancho School District in Pico Rivera, then in 1977 she transferred to the Huntington Beach Union High School district and worked her way up from Teacher’s Aide to a Guidance Counselor at Ocean View High School, where she assisted numerous students in obtaining college scholarships, and grants.
In 1961 she married Cliff Leggett. Their son Mike was born in 1962, and daughter Patti was born in 1967. They moved to Huntington Beach in 1975, where Lupe and Cliff lived together for 40 years.
Over the years Lupe was an active member of the American Business Women’s Association, and had a passion for needlepoint, and for making Japanese Dolls.
Lupe was a warm, kind, gentle, caring woman who loved her family.
Lupe is survived by her children Michael Leggett and Patti Leggett-Wantz, and four grandchildren (Aiden, Solea, Amanda and Ryan) as well as her sister Ana Luevano and brother Raymond Segoviano Jr. Lupe was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be deeply missed.
