Lisa Dalsing

Lisa Mary Dalsing, of Rancho Santa Margarita, passed away on July 19, 2021, at the age of 59, after an arduous battle with cancer. Her battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed her courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the pain and aggressiveness of her cancer, Lisa was determined to beat it and stayed strong until the end. Upon her passing, she was surrounded by many loved ones and has left a lasting impression with countless people; her legacy and memory will live on in an untold number of hearts.

She was born to Delmar and Elizabeth Dalsing on February 28, 1962, in Dubuque, IA. After graduating from Hempstead High School, Lisa completed her Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Iowa and became a lifelong fan and supporter of the Hawkeyes. She was an all-around great athlete and enjoyed playing golf, softball, tennis, and bike riding. Her love of sports didn’t stop with playing, she also enjoyed watching football, especially her alma mater and the San Francisco 49’ers and was a fan of the Chicago Cubs baseball team.

As a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), she worked as a risk manager for financial institutions for all of her life and mentored many people over her more than 25-year career. She had an uncanny ability to bring even the most mundane tasks to life, whether at work or home. She received numerous awards, personally and professionally, including recognition for Operational Excellence and Operational Impact, and was a two-time Distinguished President’s Club Honoree.

Lisa had a gentle and generous heart, loved animals, and like her mother, had an amazing green thumb. Her pleasant personality was contagious to everyone she met, always laughing and cheering. Simply put, she loved to party and have fun, even if it was just a wild card game of “Go Fish" with her nieces and nephews, “Euchre” with her mom, “Poker" with her friends, or a quiet game of “Solitaire” on her tablet. Family and friends have several fond memories with Lisa bar hopping, karaoke, dancing, and sometimes all in one night! She enjoyed traveling very much and one of her favorite trips was a cruise to Alaska with her two sisters and brother-in-law.

Lisa is survived by her partner, Ivy Pascua; their fur babies, Otis and Orville; her siblings: Linda Erpelding (Jim), Steve Dalsing (Mary), Susan Placke (Dave), Debbie Grice (Marshall); and many beloved nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Delmar and Elizabeth, and her sister, Sharon Burd.
