John J Amrikhas

John Jonathan Amrikhas was born in Basrah, Iraq on April 28th, 1925 to Sarah Amrikhas and Johnathan Sarkis. On January 19th, 1949, he married Leila Alexander - Amrikhas and they had five children together.

In 1973, John had his sights on the American Dream and came to the United States with his family. In September 1979, he accomplished that goal by becoming a US Citizen. John worked as a successful Accountant for British Petroleum. He also put his skills as an accountant to good use and worked as a consultant for a college in their Financial Aid department. John eventually retired at the age of 72 as an accountant with Ocean State Stainless Company.

Throughout his life, John picked up many hobbies. John loved betting on horse races, going to Vegas, and enjoyed investing in and gifting gold to others. John also lived a very healthy and active lifestyle. One of his most known hobbies was his love for walking. John was known to walk 5 miles a day. In his mid 80s, John even participated in walking a 5k in Temecula.

While John had many accomplishments, his biggest accomplishment was the family that he built. John was a husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. John is survived by his two sons, Robert and Roland Amrikhas, as well as his 3 daughters, Hilda Sherman, Linda Taylor, and Violet Amrikhas and his 10 grandchildren.
