Daniel Charles Parcell

Daniel Charles Parcell, 75 years of age, of Fountain Valley, California, passed away on the Winter Solstice, Thursday, December 21, 2017, in Fountain Valley, California.

A recitation of the Rosary will occur immediately before the funeral service at 9:45 AM on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Fountain Valley, California.  The funeral services will follow the Rosary at 10:15 AM, and burial will follow at 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery in Huntington Beach, California. A Celebration of Life will occur after the burial from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.  A location in Huntington Beach, CA is TBD.

Daniel Charles Parcell was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Charles and Marjorie Parcell on April 22, 1942.  He graduated from Serra High School in Gardena, California in 1960 and Loyola University in Los Angeles, California in 1964 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering and a Minor in Philosophy.  While at Loyola, Daniel achieved the rank of Lt. Colonel in the Air Force ROTC and graduated with highest honors.  His professional career began with North American Aviation in Downey, California and ended with Rockwell, International after 30 years of faithful service.  Daniel was intimately involved with the Apollo and Shuttle Programs as well as various other  programs during his time in Aerospace.  Daniel retired at a relatively young age and spent the bulk of his time visiting with his children and playing with his grandchildren.

Daniel is survived by 4 sisters (Shirley and Juanita of Palmdale, California, Cynthia of Lancaster, California, and Nancy of Yuma, Arizona), 5 children (Michelle of St. Augustine, Florida, Charles [Helder] of Orlando, Florida, William [Debbi] of Hollister, California, Joseph [Maria] of Garden Grove, California, and Peter [Diana] of Huntington Beach, California) 8 grandchildren (Anthony of Chico, California, Thomas [Becca] of Moss Beach, California, David of Everett, Washington, Jennifer of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Jacob and Adam of Garden Grove, California, and Samantha and Michael of Huntington Beach, California, 3 great-grandchildren (Theo and Olive of Moss Beach, California and Dax of Chico, California) and numerous nieces and nephews.
